Manzanares, a small town located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is home to a thriving rugby and hockey club. The club boasts more than 300 members across all age groups, ranging from children, to teenagers, to adults. The club caters for all types of participants, providing rugby for adults, teenagers and children, as well as offering rugby and hockey specifically for women. A wide range of activities, events and competitions take place regularly, all of which are hugely popular amongst the members.
The majority of participants in the club come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, yet they still reap the rewards of the social and educational prospects the club provides. The club strives to promote the core values of integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline, and respect throughout the community via the mediums of rugby and hockey. Research has demonstrated that children and adolescents who are involved in sporting activities are less likely to engage in delinquent behaviour and more likely to lead a healthy and structured lifestyle.
At Works, we are proud to be regular contributors to this group. Our donations enable them to construct the necessary facilities for their operations and purchase the tools they require to complete their duties.
As a socially responsible company, we recognise that talent may be nurtured in a variety of different environments. Participating in sports can be an invaluable experience for young people, as it provides them with essential life skills such as teamwork, planning, and the drive to succeed. By taking part in sporting activities, young people can develop into mature, independent individuals.
For the foreseeable future of these little towns, we want to continue making positive contributions.
