One Million Data Scientists Trained Through Works and IBM Partnership

We are pleased to share that Works has partnered with IBM’s Big Data University, a bold initiative designed to offer educational prospects to a million data scientists across the world within the next ten years. Our association with this novel venture reflects our firm commitment to playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the data science industry.

According to a recent analysis by Glassdoor, Data Science is currently the most well-paying technology job in the market, offering an average salary of $116,000 across over 1,700 vacancies. With businesses across all sectors struggling to handle the massive amount of data available to them, the demand for Data Scientists is rapidly increasing, turning it into an appealing and sought-after career option for people looking to join the tech industry.

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with IBM to train one million data scientists in Asia.

Since last year, Big Data University has been providing free online courses in Big Data and databases, as discussed in our recent article. Upon successfully completing each course and its associated knowledge exam, participants can obtain a certificate of completion from IBM, which can be used to showcase their skills and expertise while applying for jobs.

Over the last four months, IBM has hired four Works developers to work on a new Big Data University website and a learning management system. Recently, two more developers have joined the team.

As part of our efforts to assist IBM in hiring competent data scientists in Asia, we are linking them with suitable IT organizations, as discussed in our recent article. The first step in this process is to establish an exclusive landing page designed specifically for Asian visitors.
