The List of Agile Conferences

Agile Conferences

The introduction of Agile methodology may appear to be straightforward, however, it can be quite complex to master. Numerous organisations, small and large, are making the switch to Agile, which has caused a variety of challenges to arise that need to be addressed. To assist in this endeavour, Agile conferences are held all over the globe, providing a forum for individuals and businesses to share their experiences and learn from one another.

This list includes conferences specifically focusing on Agile, Scrum, XP and related frameworks. If you know of any Agile conferences that are not included here, please let us know in the comments and we will add it to the list. Additionally, we provide lists of conferences dedicated to project management and product management.

As we can observe, the distribution of Agile conferences throughout the year follows the seasonality of holidays, with the highest concentration of events occurring in the spring and fall. During the summer months, activity in this area decreases significantly. The majority of conferences are hosted in Europe and North America, with the majority of those taking place in the United States. Scroll down to view the list of Agile conferences.

Conferences to Note

Global Scrum Gathering

The Scrum Alliance, a prominent Scrum organisation, hosts the Global Scrum Gatherings, which feature keynote speakers from the highest echelons of the industry as well as detailed examinations of pertinent Scrum-related topics. To facilitate the process of obtaining approval and funding from supervisors, the organisers have created a comprehensive guide and a comprehensive email template.

Lean Kanban Global Summit

Kanban is the second most popular Agile framework, following Scrum. Lean Kanban, Inc. is the primary sponsor of a number of conferences dedicated to Kanban principles and practices, with the Lean Kanban Global Summit being their most renowned one, which takes place in Virginia, USA. Additionally, other countries such as Austria, Brazil, Germany, India, and Spain also host events related to Kanban.

Agile on the Beach

Cornwall has long been renowned for its Cornish cuisine and beach resorts, and it has now become an increasingly popular destination for Agile enthusiasts from all over the globe. The majority of the activities will be held at a nearby university, but attendees will be able to make the most of the sandy beaches during breaks and social events. Agile on the Beach is a perfect example of how European Union (EU) funding can help to revitalise a local economy, as the event has become self-sufficient in recent years.

Agile Tour

Agile Tour is a non-profit initiative of Agile World University. It is a collection of local Agile meetup groups that put on annual Agile conferences in their own communities. Over the years, some of the most prominent conferences have taken place in Austria, Canada, France, Lithuania, the United Kingdom and Australia.

With more than ninety cities around the world hosting local meetings and events, it is important to stay up to date with your local chapter and see if they will be hosting a conference in the near future. It is recommended to regularly check for new information to ensure you don’t miss out on any potential opportunities.

Global SAFe Summit

The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) has become the most widely adopted implementation of Agile methodology for use on a large scale. Scaled Agile Inc., the organisation that developed the framework, is hosting its Global and European Summits this year. Attendees will have access to a variety of lectures and seminars tailored to the various roles associated with SAFe, as well as a separate event dedicated to SAFe consultants and sales partners.

Women in Agile

Women in Agile is an annual conference that is dedicated to encouraging, supporting and expanding the involvement of women in the Agile community. The conference offers a variety of traditional activities such as presentations and workshops. In addition, the program called New Voices stands out as a unique opportunity. New Voices pairs experienced conference presenters with potential speakers, providing them with the opportunity to hone their skills and build their self-confidence.

XP Conferences

Despite never achieving the same level of widespread adoption as Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) has always had a devoted following. This is evidenced by the long-standing tradition of XP Days in the Netherlands, which have been held annually since 2003. These conferences are an ideal opportunity for those passionate about XP, as well as Agile practitioners looking to broaden their understanding beyond Scrum and Kanban.

ALE

Unconferences are a popular event model in the Agile community, wherein the agenda is determined by those attending. Participants have the opportunity to propose topics of discussion, and the most highly voted topics are the ones that are included in the final schedule. This structure, known as the ‘law of two feet’, allows everyone to easily move between topics to ensure that everyone is getting the maximum value out of the event. Agile Lean Europe (ALE) is the oldest and most well-known Agile unconference.

Agile for Automotive

Agile for Automotive is a perfect demonstration of the expanding use of Agile within various industries. This event brings together automotive and mobility professionals, as well as Agile experts and software engineers, to explore how Agile can be leveraged to increase business agility and competitiveness in the automotive industry. It is an interesting example of how Agile has come full circle, as the Lean movement, which was originally developed in the automotive sector, serves as the philosophical basis for Agile. As software continues to penetrate new vehicle development, Agile is a key factor in enabling organisations to remain agile and competitive.

Agile + DevOps East and West

Agile + DevOps East and West are two annual conferences that take place in Orlando, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada, respectively. Bringing together a growing number of DevOps and Agile practitioners, the conferences offer an ideal platform for technical project managers and product managers who are striving to accelerate the delivery of secure and reliable software solutions.
