Job description

A stealth software startup developing a mobile app that enables users to exchange real-time alerts about specific kinds of location-based incidents, is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of developing clean code that adheres to the highest standards. Job Responsibilities:

Pull, understand, and analyze data insights from various sources and draw scalable design conclusions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review functional requirements and ideate improved/new features
Stay on top of market trends and keep pace with changing technology
Conduct regular code reviews while troubleshooting and fixing bugs
Build a new team to help review, optimize, expand, and develop tests to bring the product to completion

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Back-end Engineer
4+ years of experience in Node.js and MongoDB
Strong understanding of logging and security concepts
Deep knowledge of REST, and core JavaScript concepts
Experience and knowledge of relational data and/or non-relational models
Previous experience with Google Cloud or other cloud environments
Design confidence and the ability to advocate for it
Great English communication skills; both written and verbal
Nice to have experience with Serverless Frameworks and Google Cloud / Firebase
