Job Responsibilities:
- Discover, consider, and use new technologies consistently to increase development effectiveness
- Build comprehensive solutions for the business's executives' and customers' problems by working with them to identify their pain areas
- Work with the data platform and applications team to ensure that the data science capabilities or algorithms are successfully incorporated into their products or work processes
- Build tools for recurring data tasks that will speed up and automate the development cycle in collaboration with the development teams
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist
- Extensive Python production-level software development experience
- Prior C++, Java, or Go knowledge is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of data science and machine learning, including building, testing, and using models
- Solid background working in a cloud environment with significant amounts of data
- Proficient understanding of time series analysis and forecasting
- Awareness of reinforcement learning
- Strong background in traditional finance and trade
- Nice to have some background in creating and implementing quantitative trading algorithms (more on the sales side than the purchase side)
- Thorough understanding of swaps, futures, options, and basic contractual duties related to financial products
- Extensive knowledge of operations research and optimization
- Demonstrable Git, CI/CD, and general professional software development experience
- Must be able to solve and complete complicated tasks as part of a team
- In-depth knowledge of the power market
- Prior experience working in the nexus of energy markets, data science, machine learning, and quantitative/algorithmic trading
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes deployment
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
