A well-established company that is providing direct marketing, brand strategy, and media mix modeling solutions to businesses, is looking for a Director/Senior Data Strategist. The selected candidate will be reporting directly to the VP of Innovation (Technology & Data Science) and will be in charge of leading new analytical projects to produce fresh, useful insights for clients. Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in technical analysis, architecture, design, programming, deployment, and maintenance as well as other elements of the development lifecycle.
- Investigate various aspects of products and experiences independently
- Collect and analyze user behavior using surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, ethnography, lab work, fieldwork, and online experiments (A/B testing)
- In-depth knowledge of diminishing returns analysis, propensity models, marketing mix modeling (MMM), and campaign test design to evaluate and inform clients' return on media investment
- Collaborate with internal and external designers, product managers, project managers, business owners, developers, and other user experience researchers to prioritize research possibilities.
- Encourage the dissemination of research findings to a variety of audiences through written reports and in-person presentations by comprehending and incorporating complicated technical and business requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist/strategist/analyst
- Prolific experience working with Python, R, and Tableau
- Demonstrable experience with SQL/SQL DBs, MS Office Suite, and Google Analytics
- Nice to have some knowledge of Adobe Cloud and Snowflake
- Demonstrable ability to extract business insights from large datasets and use them to drive business change
- Extensive experience performing analysis with large datasets and building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools
- Prior experience building out a modern analytics data stack is nice to have
- Experience coding in different scripting languages like Python or R
- Extensive SQL knowledge, capacity to work with massive datasets, and aptitude for sophisticated queries
- Must possess an impact-oriented mindset while experimenting with design, multivariate analysis, and statistical approach
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Track record of asking the right questions
- Familiarity with SDLC processes, particularly Agile
- Keen eye for detail and data integrity
- Strong desire for or experience in data science and machine learning
- Prior extensive, tactic experience in media data
- Experience working with retailer data or with large, national retailers/grocers like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, or Albertsons
- Create and implement SaaS-based applications that combine media and eCommerce data
- Develop, train, and produce new models to be used to optimize media and eCommerce
- Create and elevate current analytics methodology, build a replicable statistical framework
- Assess business and marketing obstacles, discuss potential solutions, and put a plan into action in close collaboration with customers and account teams
- Working with the Data Engineering team to ensure that data procedures are automated and effective, model outputs and inputs
- Prior experience working for a high-tech startup is very desirable
